I felt cheated by AVIS from this location, as the manager double charged me when I took their rental car on Jun.10, 2016. I found out this double charge when I receive the text msg about the charge. When I confront the manager a week later, he apologized, and pushed the fault to his employee, then mentioned I shall get the refund the following week. Until now, I see nothing, and Ive filed a complaint to AVIS HQ just now on this issue. I have asked my friend who lived locally to help take care of this business. Judging from other comments below, this branch seems dishonest to me. Too bad I didnt check the review before, but I hope my experience may warn other potential victims.
Avoid this place. Dishonest employees. We returned our car and the Avis employee (a guy) wanted to charge us for scratches on the rim. Totally bogus. No one inspected the car with us when we picked it up... and theres no record. And wouldnt scratches on the rim be a normal thing for any car? We told him "no way." If you want to charge us for it, you will have to go after us for it. After some heated change, he relented. Why in the world would he attempt this? Total B.S. that they would attempt this type of bogus dishonest business behavior. AVOID and go somewhere else.
I booked a car online for $240 CAD but when I paid the final bill Avis Richmond charged me $290 CAD instead. After walking back to the store, provided evidence of the discrepancy and multiple phone calls, Avis did not give me a reply why I was charged $50 more. The manager kept saying he would call me back and keep me updated but after 10 days and 10 phone calls he has yet to return one phone call explaining what happened.
Thank God, I checked the review before I went here to rent a car. I needed to go to Whistler with my friends and only reason, I am renting a car is because I sold my car and waiting to get my 2016 Range Rover HSE from the dealership (Waiting for the paint job). And didnt know we had the ski trip today... Thanks for the heads up guys. I have avoided this place.
We had a great experience at this avis rental location. We had an excellent service with Francisco Lopez and he was ready to make sure that we will be satisfied of his service and the car that we will rent. I recommend this place to rent a car. Had so much trouble with that rental Avis location. The guy tried his best to make me a good deal but then received unauthorized charges on my credit card. Called Avis customer service several time and no one was able to tell me why 766$ were charge on my card. Everything is complicated with this branch! DONT go there.
