Very poor service from the counter lady! After 24 hours of travel, and you pick up your car, you do not really want to miss the repeat. That happened to one of the employees of Hertz. I just want to have available the car that I have spent with more than six months of anticipation and I do not want to go arguing about a car that they want to give me, bigger and that does not comply with the function I want and also does not work. At the end, after a long and magical journey, a similar car appeared that I had hired and they said they did not have it.
Edit: *Resolved by Steven*. Once I got to the location Steven sorted everything out and made me feel like they made up for the inconvenience. Upgraded from 1 star to 3. Original: Never again. Worst customer service Ive ever experienced. I extend my rental a day over the phone then call back the next day to extend again and there is a "hold and return immediately" on my car. Apparently the extension "didnt go through" but no one thought to call me back. Corporate cant help with a "hold" on it and no one picks up the phone at either number for the location. Cherry on top, corporate transfers me to roadside assistance to see if they can help, doesnt brief them on my call and I get a stunned lady who can only tell me "uh, we dont handle extensions". So instead of catching a ferry to Vancouver Island Im heading back to the airport to ask why no one is picking up the phone so I dont need to pay $20/hour in late fees. 0/10, never coming back.
Terrible customer service. An agent at the Vancouver location got into an argument with me over the phone over which side the Rental Agreement was on - LEFT or RIGHT. I told her that the side she is referring to doesnt have the number she is requesting. She kept insisting, like a child, that it was in the specific corner. In the end she hung up on me. A gentleman by the name of Louise picked up the phone, after I called back repeatedly for 20 minutes. It was obvious that he was aware of what happened by the irritable tone of his voice. He probably didnt even give me his real name. I have a corporate account, work for a global company, and travel frequently. I will definitely make it a priority never to rent anything from Hertz again.
I will never forgive these scammers. I paid top dollar to rent a Toyota ($40k) and these clowns deliver me a Dodge ($23k) and claim it is just as good. What a joke. The service was terrible, they lied to us repeatedly. Here is their scam, they promise to deliver a top of the line Japanese or European automobile, they have none in stock, they stock nothing but lemons like Dodge. So you pay top dollar thinking you are renting a solid vehicle, then they switch it, and deliver a lemon. Also, they do not answer phone calls at this location. Call them, the line says the office is closed even though it is open. Worst service ever.
Extremely poor customer service all around. Wanted to extend my rental and tried calling the main line three times, and then tried reaching the managers extension another three times, all to no avail. I then called Hertz toll free customer service and they attempted to call the location directly and could not get ahold of them either - after trying themselves for 10 minutes! Hertz themselves said they would be trying to get ahold of the area manager to file my complaint, and that this was completely unacceptable. I ended returning my vehicle before its due date and rented a car through Enterprise instead.
Tried to rent a car from Hertz, the incompetency and run around the staff give you is horrendous. I was directed to 4 different locations and they still did not give me the number to the right one. Their call center employees give customer service that even the laziest person couldnt be proud of. I asked for a manager to make a complaint, the low iq human on the other end transferred me to another rep. The other rep then told me they dont have a complaints line and you cant make a complaint. If you want to die a little and lose some of your soul, deal with these assholes and add stress to your life.
Worst customer service I have ever experienced. When we wanted to pick up the car we had to wait for 45 minutes until the car was ready, and no one at the counter seemed bothered. Worst of all was that we got ripped off with Hertzs flexible fuel charge, which we were informed would be waived if we returned the car with a full tank of gasoline. When we returned the car (with a full tank!) the clerk demanded to see a receipt from the gas station which we hadnt kept. He then charged us the flexible fuel charge of 20 CAD even though the car had a full tank of gasoline. Hertz- Never again!
Although the staff were friendly, only two people were on the desk, we therefore had to queue for over 45 minutes. After an international flight this is totally unacceptable. The fact it was all pre booked made it worse. Perhaps Hertz needs to understand and take into consideration the following facts when manning an airport desk:- we have already had a journey to a UK airport, followed by a 3 hour check in procedure, then a flight of approximately 10 hours, then Canadian immigration, the last thing we want to do is stand in a queue because Hertz are unable to man a desk properly.
Had a car with oneway drop off at hertz yvr , when i handed the car back i explained the cars air conditioner failed to work for the 7 days we had it, the nice lady at hertz tried to give me a credit but their system would not allow it , she told she would pass it on to the manager, saying he would contact me, this never happened and they billed me almost 4 weeks after i arrived back in Australia, i send them a email but no responce, we will NOT be hiring a car through hertz again just due to poor customer service. Shame on you hertz, that hurt, never a gain
Hertz 13409 72 Ave, Surrey, BC V3W 2N7, Canada Absolutely the worst - had 24hrs notice I was coming for a SUV - if you want a dirty car thats not even clean or full of gas and have your time wasted while they clean, then come to this location. - if you want a clean car thats ready and dont want to wait 30-60 min to have it detailed or clean. Then go elsewhere - it was ironic that they had another customer complaining that they had rented an SUV and his family spent two hours cleaning. I now believe in déjà vu
Most useless. I had to return my car at this location. The behaviour at Hertz reception counter was so rude like going through US immigration. It was like You have two choices -Take it or leave it or Its my way or the highway attitude. On approaching the counter she said Whats wrong. why are you here Very un-helpful and not wanting to listen and said we are unionized and dont do this you can go to other location if you need better service. I will never like to deal with hertz atleast at this location.
